How do I set-up Outlook to pick up email from my server?

This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2003, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express by using the settings in this tutorial.

Your Account Details

You should already have an email address set-up on the server and been supplied with your username and password or you may have created the mailbox yourself through the server control panel. Either way, you will need these details to set-up Outlook, if you do not have them please email me.

A Potential Problem Sending Email

If you are experiencing problems sending email it might be that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will not permit SMTP connections to email servers other than their own for sending email.

It is not a problem though, simply enter their details for the outgoing mail server in step 4, and at stage 5 enter your username and password provided by your ISP.

If you do not know your details, please contact your ISP direct.
